David Lawrence graduated from Indiana University and received a Master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago. He worked as a therapist for almost 10 years before God's call to ministry. David attended Louisville Seminary where he met his wife, Fran. Fran is also a Presbyterian Pastor in Niles, MI. David is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from Dubuque Seminary.

Leadership:

The Auburn Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America [PCUSA]. 

  • Session:

    The activities and ministries of our congregation are governed by the Session. This governing body is composed of 9 members of the church who are elected by the congregation for a term of three years. They are trained by the Pastor (who moderates the Session and is also a regular member of Session but ordained by the denomination as a Minister of Word and Sacrament), and they are ordained as Ruling Elders as long as they are members of our denomination.
    The Session oversees every facet of our congregational life: spiritual, educational, financial; from the appropriate use of our building to what ministries our congregation will support beyond our membership, locally to internationally

  • Deacons:

    Our Board of Deacons consists of 12 members elected by the congregation to serve three year terms and ordained to this ministry of compassion, witness, and service. On the Sundays when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, Deacons extend the Lord’s Table by sharing that Communion with our shut-ins and others who cannot attend our service of worship. They visit members who are no longer able to join us in worship. They feed and clothe and assist members of the community who have fallen on hard times. And they keep the congregation aware of members who are dealing with special circumstances.
